The HP 650 isn't exactly what you’d consider an eye-catching laptop, but for £285.98 including delivery, you could definitely do worse. Especially since the online retailer selling it, Box, is also selling an upgrade to Windows 8 for only £15, meaning that you can grab the pair for around £301.
The laptop is reassuringly boring, sporting grey and black tones that would not look out of place in a business environment. It is powered by an Intel Pentium Dual Core B970 processor clocked at 2.3GHz with 2MB cache.
Box has upgraded the system memory to a massive 6GB while the hard drive has a capacity of 320GB.
The rest of the features are fairly mundane to say the least. There’s a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 Anti-glare LED backlit display, Windows 7 Home Premium, a DVD writer, Wi-Fi, Integrated Intel HD graphics, a GbE connector, Webcam, three USB ports, HDMI and VGA ports, up to six hours battery life and a weight of 2.39kg.
So, if your business is looking for an affordable laptop that comes with a GbE port and enough RAM to power Windows 8, this HP 650 should be high up on your shortlist.
