Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10in tablet down to £230

Online retailer Currys has launched a new promotion that allows you to save up to £80 on Samsung tablets when you buy a case for as little as £10. Currys will cough up £30, with the rest coming from Samsung. The details of the promotion, which lasts until the 5 December, can be found on this dedicated T&C page.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P5110 tablet plus an entry-level carry case together cost £310. The combined cashback offers cut the price to a mere £230, which is a decent, albeit not exceptional, price for a dual-core large-format tablet (check out our review of the Galaxy Tab 2 10in and see why we only gave it 6 out of 10).

Meanwhile, Carphone Warehouse is selling the smaller, lower-resolution version of the tablet, the GT-P3110, for as little as £119 when you factor in the Samsung cashback.

The tablet comes with a TI OMAP4430 SoC clocked at 1GHz, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a rear 3-megapixel camera and a front-facing VGA one.
