32GB Google Nexus 7 tablet with case down to £189

As part of an ongoing promotion, Currys is selling the 32GB Google Nexus 7 tablet with a case for a total price of £189.

The deal requires that you buy the tablet for £199 and a case from as little as £10 (it need not fit). You can then claim a £20 cash back between day 30 and day 60, bringing down the total outlay to £189, which is not much more than the price of the 16GB model. The cashback offer will be valid until the 5 December, with the promotion's terms and conditions available on Currys' website.

The Google Nexus 7 was first unveiled back in July and Google has since announced a higher-end 10in tablet called the Nexus 10, a smartphone called the Nexus 4 and a new Chromebook called the Samsung Series 3.

The tablet comes with a 7in 1,280 x 800 IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 system-on-chip clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, a front-facing camera, 32GB onboard storage, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but no microSD card slot or HDMI port.

The recent launch of the Apple iPad mini, which is both smaller and cheaper than the iPad, may have prompted the Nexus 7's price drop.
