T-Mobile is giving away a pair of WeSC bass headphones worth £100 (but more realistically priced at around £70) with the purchase of any phone worth over £50. This includes the entry level Samsung Tocco Lite 2 which costs £49.99 excluding a compulsory £10 top-up (which offers unlimited texts, 100 free UK minutes or 70 international minutes).
As for the Tocco Lite 2, it is an entry level smartphone which runs on a proprietary but very basic operating system. It has s 3.2-megapixel camera, a 3in touchscreen with a 240 x 320 resolution, a microSD card reader, FM radio, a music player, built in access to Facebook and Twitter, as well as instant messaging services like MSN, Yahoo and Google Talk.
Admittedly, there are better Android-based smartphones on the market for around the same price, but it is the free pair of WeSC headphones that ultimately sweetens the deal.
Note that there are other handsets available on the same offer from T-Mobile, like the HTC Wildfire S.
We reviewed the Samsung Tocco Lite 2 back in July and found out that it didn’t have 3G but still had a pseudo-app store, making it a device that just about lacks the features it requires to be truly considered a smartphone.
