It's partly known as the little brother of the W700, but what's really interesting about the Acer Iconia W510 is that Amazon is already slashing over £5 off its RRP while it's still in its retail infancy.
The Iconia W510 comes with a detachable keyboard like the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and features an Intel Atom Z2760 dual core processor based on the Clovertrail architecture and clocked at 1.5GHz. It packs 2GB of RAM, 32GB on-board storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a webcam, a 10.1in, 1,366 x 768 pixel IPS display, a keyboard dock that can also double as a stand, Acer’s Always On, Always Connect (resuming from deep sleep in just 2.5 seconds) and Cloud, Social Jogger and Crystal Eye Webcam.
The W510 also has a SIM slot, one speaker, micro-HDMI and micro-USB ports plus a microSD card slot. Acer claims that the device's battery is robust enough to last up to 18 hours with up to six hours web browsing per day for up to three days.
This nifty little tablet comes with a full version of Windows 8, which offers the full experience of the Windows environment compared to others like the Yoga 11, which runs on Windows RT.
Still, we prefer its bigger brother, the W700, which offers a bigger screen with a much higher resolution, a more powerful processor, more on-board storage, and more RAM - for not that much more of a premium.
