Lenovo ThinkPad Tab 2 Windows 8 tablet available from £452

Check out this Lenovo ThinkPad Tab 2 tablet if you are after a device that’s capable of running the full version of Windows 8 rather than the alternative Windows RT model.

Dabs is selling the ThinkPad Tab 2 for £452, which uses a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, based on Clovertrail architecture and clocked at 1.8GHz. It has 1GB of RAM (part of which is shared with video), 32GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a 10.1in IPS 1,366 x 768 display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, HD video recording, a front 2-megapixel model, GPS, an HDMI and one USB port and a battery life of around 10 hours.

At 565g and with a thickness of less than 10mm, the ThinkPad Tab 2 is surprisingly thin for an Intel-based tablet. It comes with a docking port that allows it to connect to an optional docking station that transforms the device into an ultra-thin laptop. Oddly enough, the tablet, which is aimed at a business audience, comes with Windows 8 rather than Windows 8 Pro.

Lenovo has been quite aggressive with tablets and convertible devices. Checkout our hands on the Ideapad Yoga 11 and 13, the IdeaPad Lynx and the Thinkpad Twist.
