Orange Barcelona Android phone from £40

If you are on Orange and are looking for an affordable handset, then check out the Orange Barcelona, a £40 handset from Argos’ eBay outlet that comes with free delivery and 40 Nectar points.

This is a basic smartphone but still manages to include a QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity, a microSD card reader, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Android Froyo 2.2, a 2.6in capacitive touchscreen display (320x240 pixels), HD Voice and Qualcomm MSM7227 system-on-chip clocked at 528MHz for not much more than what you’d paid for a feature phone.

The Barcelona is a decent alternative to the more expensive ZTE Kis although the latter comes with £10 top up on Virgin Mobile as well as one year worth of data allowance (1GB per month) that costs £60.

Desire worked at ITProPortal right at the beginning and was instrumental in turning it into the leading publication we all know and love today. He then moved on to be the Editor of TechRadarPro - a position he still holds - and has recently been reunited with ITProPortal since Future Publishing's acquisition of Net Communities.
