Acer Iconia W700 tablet on preorder for £593

The Acer Iconia W700, a Windows 8 based tablet, is now available on preorder from Amazon for a mere £593.

The recently launched tablet comes with a wireless Bluetooth keyboard and a cradle. However, don’t expect something equivalent to the Lenovo Ideapad Lynx or the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.

The device comes with an Ivy-Bridge-based Intel Core i3 processor, a dual-core model called the i3-2365, clocked at 1.4GHz with 4GB of RAM, 64GB onboard storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Intel HD 4000 Graphics, Windows 8, a webcam and an 11.6in full HD display (that’s 1,920 x 1080 pixels).

The cradle can be applied in portrait and landscape, it also enables three different modes of functionality to fit different usage scenarios.

The rest of the features include three USB 3.0 ports, Acer Green Instant On (waking up from sleep mode in just 1.5 seconds), Acer Cloud, Acer Always Connect, Dolby Home Theater, Acer Social Jogger plus a pair of speakers and a micro-HDMI port.

Overall, the W700 packs a lot of interesting features including a bigger than average display, a full HD resolution, a decent Intel processor and Windows 8.
