Asus K55A i7 laptop down to £400

The Asus K55A-SX070V laptop is on sale at Amazon for a penny under £400 with free delivery - a 33 per cent discount from its SRP of £599.

It is powered by an Intel i7-3610QM processor, a quad-core mobile model which has 1MB L2 and 6MB L3 cache. Based on Ivy Bridge architecture, its cores run at 2.3GHz, with a massive overclock of 3.1GHz. As expected, it features Intel’s HD Graphics 4000 graphics subsystem.

The rest of the specification reads as follows; 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive, a DVD writer, an aluminium chassis with a texture finish, Windows 7 Home Premium, Asus’ SonicMaster lite audio technology, a 15.6in 1,366x768 pixels monitor, a webcam, three USB ports, a card reader, a LAN port, Wi-Fi, HDMI, VGA and a numeric keypad.

Asus has also thrown in its Super Hybrid Engine II which allows the laptop to almost behave like a smartphone with an “always-on, Instant-on” user experience, allowing the K55A to resume from sleep mode in two seconds and offer a stand time of 14 days.
