With CES just around the corner, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the trade show will host a series of important television announcements, while mobile falls to the wayside.
We’re already expecting an 85in UHD television from Samsung, promising an incredible eight million pixels. But that not might be the big announcement - according to a report from Korean tech site MK News, the firm is preparing to unveil a massive 110in UHD television set, the world’s largest, at CES.
The report cites an anonymous Samsung official as saying “At the next year’s CES to be open on January 8 in Las Vegas, the US, Samsung will have its 110-inch UHD TV on display.”
“Not to mention ultra-sized screen, our UHD TV will boast the best-ever definition and design that you haven’t experienced before,” the unnamed spokesperson said.
But with UHD TVs in the 80in range costing well over £20,000, Samsung is more likely to be simply showing off its technology than preparing to commercialise the rumoured 110in set.
ITProPortal will be on hand in Las Vegas to cover the trade show and will bring you the news as soon as it’s announced.
