RIM Blackberry Playbook 7in tablet with leather case for £124

The BlackBerry PlayBook was a RIM flagship model when it was unveiled more than two years ago. Since then, the arrival of the iPad, as well as a slew of Android tablets, led the Canadian manufacturer to heavily reduce the price of its tablet.

In fact, you can now buy the 64GB version of the PlayBook with a leather journal case from Currys for as little as £124 when you use the discount code COMPUT5 at checkout. The price includes free delivery, meaning the bundle represents a saving of up to £155.

The tablet is similar to the Amazon Kindle Fire, which is slightly less expensive. It has a dual-core TI OMAP4430 SoC clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM and a generous 64GB of onboard storage, which all but negates the need for extra storage (note that there’s no microSD card slot).

Other features include a 7in 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution, a microUSB and microHDMI port. It ships with the QNX-based BlackBerry Tablet OS with Apps available from BlackBerry App World, Wi-Fi, multi-megapixel front- and rear-facing cameras, Bluetooth and much more.
