Samsung Ativ S Windows Phone 8 debuts at £26 per month

The Samsung Ativ S Windows Phone 8 smartphone can now be pre-ordered from BuyMobilePhones for as little as £26 per month without any upfront fee - a decent price for what looks like a very capable Windows Phone 8 handset. The total cost of ownership, £624, is around £200 more than the cost of the handset on its own.

The package on Orange Panther 26 comes with 200 minutes, unlimited texts, 750MB data allowance, 2GB BT Openzone Wi-Fi, push email and web browsing, as well as Orange’s own popular loyalty schemes like Magic Numbers, Orange Wednesdays and two Swapables.

As for Samsung’s only Windows Phone 8 smartphone, it is quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3, bar the operating system and the system-on-chip, which is a Qualcomm model rather Samsung’s own Exynos one, clocked at 1.5GHz.

Other features include a 4.8in Super AMOLED display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera plus a front-facing one and full HD video recording capabilities.

The phone is also available SIM Free from as little as £425. Check out our hands-on with the Samsung Ativ S smartphone for more details.
