Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook with Intel Core i7 and 240GB SSD down to just £570

We have to admit we were quite surprised to see the Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook for just £570 at Save on Laptops, given that it carries an enthusiastic SRP of £1,400 and boasts some standout specifications.

Firstly, it comes with an Intel Core i7-2637M dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, capable of overclocking up to 2.8GHz, and supported by 4MB L3 cache and 4GB of RAM. Secondly, it has a massive 240GB solid state drive (SSD), which is twice what you normally get on similarly priced super-slim notebooks.

Other features include Windows 7 Home Premium (upgradable to Windows 8 via Acer for free), a 13.3in Acer CineCrystal LED display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 2.0 ports, a webcam, a card reader, an HDMI port and up to six hours battery life.

The Acer Aspire S3, which has an aluminium and magnesium alloy chassis, is less than 13mm at its thinnest and weighs only 1.35Kg. Save on Laptops sweetens the deal further, giving buyers a free copy of Bullguard security, and you can get a three year warranty with accidental damage cover for a further £100.
