£279 Samsung UE32EH5000: A 32in LED television set with Freeview HD tuner

Televisions are best bought from John Lewis. Not only does the high street retailer offer a five-year warranty on every TV it sells, it will also price match rivals that have brick-and-mortar stores.

John Lewis is selling the Samsung UE32EH5000 television for £279 including delivery. This display is a full 1080p model, which means that it can go up to a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It has a thinner-than-average bezel and comes with a Freeview HD tuner, a rarity at this price range.

Other features include LED backlighting, SRS TheatreSound with a 20W speaker output, two HDMI ports, USB 2.0 and SCART ports. However, it has neither a card slot nor does it offer frame rate frequencies above 50Hz.

Note that the TV consumes only 35W. And, at only 6.4kg, it can be easily wall mounted.

If you're not interested in the extra four-year warranty, you can save a few quid by buying the TV set from RGBDirect for £279.
