Free Broadband from Tesco: Too good to be true?

Tesco is offering its broadband service with inclusive evening and weekend calls for a mere £2.50 per month, which adds up to just £30 per year. To sweeten the deal, you also get a £30 giftcard (you need to quote GIFTCARD-D at checkout), essentially making the offer free.

The deal is available until 3 February 2013. After 12 months, the monthly price of the broadband service will rise to £6.50. In addition to the cost of the broadband, you will also need to pay for the line rental at £13.75 per month.

You get Clubcard points on every pound you spend; as for other key features, these include 0845/0870 calls, UK call centres, unlimited downloads, as-fast-as-your-line-can-support speed, a Technicolor 582N Pro wireless router and no setup fees.

Note that a 30 day rolling contract is also available but comes with a £40 setup cost. Tesco had the same free broadband offer in August 2012 and also gave away free broadband to its mobile customers in November 2012.
