Sony Xperia T available on £15.50 contracts now

Tesco Phone Shop is selling the Xperia T smartphone, Sony’s top of the range smartphone for a mere £15.50 per month with an upfront fee of £20, that’s a total cost of ownership of £392 spread over two years, not bad for a phone that retails for £399.

The phone – which was announced four months ago at IFA - is available on O2 with 200 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB data bolt on which means that it is ideal for a light user. Other than the £6 monthly discount that comes with the phone, other perks include 50GB free cloud-based storage for life and a pair of Sony headphones.

The Xperia T is the followup to the Xperia S. You can compare both smartphones on their spec comparison page. The Xperia T runs on an MSM8960, a dual-core system-on-chip from Qualcomm, which is clocked at 1.5GHz.

Other features include 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 13-megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor, Android 4.0 ICS, a 4.55in 1,280x720 pixels Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine, Screen mirroring capabilities, Playstation certification and full HD video recording.
