Those wanting to tighten their home security may be intrigued by Belkin’s latest offering at CES 2013, as the US manufacturer has unveiled the brand new NetCam Wi-Fi Camera with Night Vision and the NetCam HD.
The compact surveillance devices allow you to watch live footage from your smartphone or tablet wherever you are in the world, via the free NetCam app that can be downloaded on iOS or Android. The cameras connect to your Wi-Fi router and include a raft of features that will appeal to many looking to keep an eye on their children and pets every day, as well as their property while they are away.
Costing £99.99 and available in Europe from April, the Belkin NetCam Wi-Fi Camera with Night Vision (above) sports wide-angle video to survey larger areas, sends movement-detection notifications to the user via email, can save live video directly to your mobile device, includes digital audio for high quality sound, and as you may have guessed, has night vision capabilities producing clear pictures even in the dark.
The Belkin NetCam HD (right), which includes the same features plus full HD 720p resolution, won’t be available until June and its price has not yet been confirmed.
Belkin isn’t the only company to reveal wireless surveillance cameras for the home in Las Vegas this week. Netgear showed off its VueZone cameras yesterday which include many of the same features and appear to go head-to-head with Belkin’s offering.
