Sony Xperia U plus free PS3 available on £15.50 monthly contracts

Buymobilephones is selling the Sony Xperia U black with a Sony PS3 slim gaming console for only £15.50 per month on a two year contract with O2 on its bonus internet all rounder package. That’s a total cost of ownership of £372. The deal includes 200 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB data, free Wi-Fi via O2 and BT Openzone and Priority Moments, O2’s own loyalty scheme.

Given that the console and the mobile handset have a combined price of around £260, it means that you’re paying roughly £5 a month for the phone services. The Xperia U has, for long, been one of our favourite devices, blending a great design and a decent specification with an affordable price.

It comes with a dual-core system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz, a 3.5in touchscreen with a 854x480 resolution, 512MB of RAM, 4GB onboard storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, Sony Mobile’s BRAVIA engine and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It doesn’t however have a microSD card slot.

As for the PS3 Slim gaming console, it is the 12GB model which was launched back a few months ago and not only come with a built-in Blu-ray player but also has Bluetooth, two USB ports and comes with a Dual Shock 3 controller.
