CES 2013: EnGenius boosts product portfolio

Engenius Technologies announced a slew of new products and services at CES 2013, making its product portfolio the most expansive, to date.

The company announced a new cloud services platform for businesses and consumers. The Engenius Cloud Service for Business allows for remote management and monitoring over its indoor and outdoor access points and managed switches. Cloud Services for Home lets home users monitor their networks and remotely access content from hard drives connected to a line of routers - the Wireless AC Home Entertainment Cloud Pods.

These cloud pods are devices targeted to heavy multimedia home networks. The Wireless AC Router + Built-In Gigabit Switch + USB + Media Streaming Platform, delivers management and monitoring through EnGenius Cloud Services.

The Wireless AC Media Pod has four Gigabit Ethernet ports and allows users to connect devices, such as Blu-Ray players, DVRs, set-top boxes, HDTVs, and game consoles to their EnGenius Wireless AC Home Entertainment Pod or any other 11ac router.

In the first part of 2013, EnGenius will also ship a new line of Work & Play Wireless N Home Pod Routers. The company also plans to release two selectable dual-band 802.11ac USB adapters, IP surveillance cameras (for consumers and business), as well as managed and unmanaged switches. In addition, several Powerline Adapter Kits will be available in the first quarter of this year. These kits include Powerline components that support up to 500Mbps over existing electric circuitry. With Powerline adapters, users can extend network connectivity just by using their electric circuits.
