Asus Vivo Tab RT hybrid laptop lands at Three

The Asus Vivo Tab RT is now available from Three for £30.99 per month on a two-year contract with an upfront fee of £199; that is a total cost of ownership of nearly £943 which compares well to the £670 you’ll fork out for the hybrid laptop on its own.

The price includes 15GB of monthly data allowance which is the highest available on Three; sadly the company doesn’t offer the equivalent of a “The One Plan” offer for mobile broadband services even for a hefty premium.

The Vivo Tab RT is in essence the Windows RT equivalent of the award winning Eee Pad Transformer series. It runs on a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. It has a detachable keyboard docking station that converts it into a capable ultra-portable device and even sports a touchpad.

Other features include Office 2013, an 8-megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 10.1in 1,366x768 resolution, more than eight hours battery life, an 8.3mm thickness and a weight of 530g. In comparison, Three sells a 64GB iPad 3 3G for £29 per month with an upfront cost of £269.

The iPad 3 doesn’t come with a docking station or a bundled office application but features the Retina Display. Check out our review of the Asus Vivo Tab RT.
