Nokia Lumia 710 available from £70

Looking for an affordable Windows Phone smartphone? Hurry up, as Carphone Warehouse subsidiary E2Save is clearing out remaining stocks of the Nokia Lumia 710 for as little as £69.90, plus a compulsory £15 top-up that gives you one month of unlimited data on Three.

The Lumia 710 is being sold in refurbished condition. It comes with a one year warranty and should, in theory, be unlocked. Launched back in September 2011 with its big brother, the Nokia Lumia 800, it features a 3.7in WVGA display and a single-core MSM8255 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and supported by 512MB of RAM.

Other features include 8GB of onboard storage, Windows Phone 7.5, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with HD video recording and face detection, GPS, a number of Nokia apps (including Maps and Drive) and Wi-Fi.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to upgrade the Lumia 710 to Windows Phone 8, although you should be able to get Windows Phone 7.8 to run on it.

The phone remains one of the best cross-platform devices for less than £100 and lacks only a few features compared to the Lumia 800, which costs almost twice the price.

Other notable sub-£100 smartphones include the Orange San Diego.
