HTC One X for £15.50 per month: A quad-core smartphone on a budget

After LG with its Optimus 4X HD, it’s now the turn of HTC with its One X to see a massive fall in contract price, down to a mere £15.50.

The deal on LG’s super phone dates from August and has unfortunately already expired but the current one, on the One X, from Tesco Phone Shop is even better.

For the same outlay of £372 over the duration of the contract (i.e. two years), you get 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data allowance plus 25GB free cloud storage thanks to Dropbox. Check out the review of the HTC One X on ITProportal.

The device is no longer the “hero” smartphone from HTC. The Butterfly and the HTC One X+ have replaced it. Still with its Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, 32GB onboard memory and 1GB of RAM, this is a seriously competitive device at this price.

Other features include a massive 4.7in 1,280 x 720 pixels display, a rear 8-megapixel camera, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel one, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 1,800mAh battery plus Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Note that it doesn’t have any microSD card slot and the battery is not removable.
