The price of the Samsung Ativ S, the only Windows Phone 8 smartphone from the Korean company, is gradually falling down.
The handset can be purchased on PAYG from O2 for as little as £400 plus a compulsory £10 top up. You will be able to use the device on Giff Gaff, Tesco Mobile and O2; unlocking is out of question for now. The device is essentially a Windows Phone version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with the body design of an S2 with a 8.7mm thickness and a weight of 135g.
It has a 4.8in Super AMOLED display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution and covered with Corning Gorilla 2 glass, 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, an SD card slot, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, an 8-megapixel camera, HD video recording and playback and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera.
There are only two other rivals to the Samsung Ativ S, the similarly-priced HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia’s flagship model, the Lumia 920. More are expected to be released at the end of next month in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress).
