Samsung Galaxy S3 mini now available for £15 per month

You can now buy the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, the slightly controversial little brother to the Samsung Galaxy S3 (although it is more closely related to the S2) for £15 per month on a two year contract, its cheapest pay monthly contract in the UK yet.

The offer is on TalkMobile, which is a Vodafone-backed virtual network operator. As expected though the plan is rather lightweight with 50 minutes, 200 texts and 100MB data. For 50p extra per month (£12 over the duration of the contract), you can get an additional 50 minutes and upgrade your text allowance to “unlimited” on Orange. Both offers are available at Carphone Warehouse.

The Galaxy S3 Mini was launched late last year and caused many to question Samsung’s decision to label it as an S3 relative when its specifications were in fact closer to an S2.

It comes with a dual-core ST Ericsson Novathor U8500 SoC clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot, a 4in Super AMOLED display with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 5-megapixel camera plus a number of features borrowed from its bigger brother.

These include the design of the phone itself (“inspired by Nature” as Samsung would put it), Smart Alert, Smart Stay and more. You can check out our review of the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini here.
