£95 Archos Arnova 10b G3 tablet: An affordable entry-level large screen tablet

French manufacturer Archos is one of the more popular (and prolific) entry level tablet manufacturers in the UK and it’s easy to see why.

It has consistently, over the years, tried to offer the best value-for-money tablets and media players on the market, throwing some innovative models in the mix (like the GamePad or the FamilyPad).

Online retailer Cheapest Electrical sells the Archos Arnova 10b G3 tablet on eBay for £95, a price that includes delivery and 100 Nectar points. It runs on a 1GHz Cortex-A8 based SoC with 1GB of RAM, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 10.1in display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, full HD video playback capabilities, a front facing webcam, a microSD card slot and a weight of only 620g.

This is one of the cheapest large screen tablets on the market but it comes with a number of flaws; there’s no rear cameras, the resolution is quite low, there’s no access to Google Play (only Archos’ own AppsLib app store) and there’s no HDMI port.

Note that this is a refurbished model that comes with a full one-year warranty.
