£245 Dell Inspiron M5040 laptop: One of the more affordable laptops on the market

The Dell Inspiron M5040 laptop is on sale on eBay via Cheapest Electrical for a mere £245 including delivery and 245 Nectar points. The notebook is a refurbished model but comes with a one year warranty.

It runs on a dual-core AMD Brazos C60 APU which runs at 1.33GHz (roughly similar to an Intel Atom CPU with a similar clock speed) and is equipped with an AMD Radeon HD6290 graphics solution.

Other features include 8GB of RAM, a 320GB hard disk drive, a DVD writer, a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 display, Windows 7 (and you can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for £25 until 31 January), a 320GB hard disk drive and the usual array of connectors and features you’d find on a mainstream laptop.

The laptop has unfortunately been discontinued. Dell’s cheapest models, the £279 Inspiron 15 range, now run on the Intel Celeron B820, a much more powerful processor compared with the C60, with half the RAM but a bigger hard drive.
