Recent speculation regarding a possible February unveiling for the PlayStation 4 has just gathered further steam.
Sony has sent out invitations to this year’s PlayStation Meeting where it promises that attendees will “see the future.”
In a short video (posted above), the tech giant discloses that the event will take place on 20 February at 18:00 EST (23:00 GMT). It’s also expected that the event will be live-streamed.
Commentators have seemingly reached a consensus that the next PlayStation – codenamed Orbis – will likely be making its debut at the event. The Wall Street Journal has already claimed that sources close to the situation confirmed the prospective consoles presence as well as asserting that the Orbis will be hitting shelves within the year.
According to Sony, the announcement will take place in New York and "the PlayStation meeting will be about the future of the PlayStation business."
