Audiovisual Online is selling the Yamaha BDX-610, a 3D Blu-ray home cinema system, for a mere £199, which according to the retailer, is a 60 per cent discount off its £499 SRP.
The system includes a 5.1 channel sound system complete with an AV receiver and a built-in 3D-compatible Blu-ray player. Amongst other features are an FM radio, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD master support, support for Netflix, Youtube’s Leanback, DLNA 1.5 compatibility, Audio Return Channel, a front facing USB port, Internet radio vSupport plus compatibility with FLAC format and HD Audio.
There’s only one HDMI out port though with no input. Other connectors include digital audio inputs (coaxial and optical), two analog audio inputs, a composite video out, two USB ports, Ethernet and a nominal maximum output power of 100W.
The main disappointment though has to be the complete lack of HDMI-in connectors which means that you’re pretty much obliged to use other HDMI ports on your display device if you want to stream anything from, say, a laptop.
Furthermore you will have to use a second I/O to stream audio content to your AV set in order to make the most of it.
