The Samsung Syncmaster S24B300HL monitor is the best-selling monitor at online retailer Dabs and it is very easy to see why. It costs £119.98 but comes with a £20 discount (use SYNC20 at check out to get it) which brings the final price to £99.98.
It sports a 23.6in diagonal with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution, a brightness of 250cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, a response time of 5ms, HDMI and VGA connectors.
The monitor comes with a number of Samsung only features like MagicAngle which the company describes as a “5-mode Angle management”, MagicTune, MagicColor, MagicBright 3 and Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio (which we suspect would produce over-saturated pictures).
The S24B300HL weighs only 3.8Kg and consumes a mere 30W (or 300mW in standby) and it doesn’t come with a VESA mount which limits its use should you want to fix it on a stand. This is only the second instance of a sub-£100 24in monitor that we logged on Techdealspro.
The previous one was the Arianet M240 which has since been discontinued. If size is no concern, then we’d probably recommend a display with a smaller diagonal (22in or less), which translates into a higher pixel density. These are often much cheaper as well.
