128GB super-size iPad now on sale

Looking to get your hands on Apple's ultra-pricey 128GB iPad? Now you can. The Cupertino firm has begun selling the 128GB iPad online and in stores.

The Wi-Fi model will set you back £639 while the LTE model is priced at £739. As of now, both versions are available to ship between 1 to 3 business days.

Apple first announced the new iPad model with boosted storage space late last month. Beyond the storage bump, there are no other significant changes to this model. It still sports a 9.7in Retina display, Apple A6X chip, and FaceTime HD camera. It will come equipped with iOS 6.1, which just made its debut last week.

"With more than 120 million iPads sold, it's clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs," Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said in a statement last month. "With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."

The 128GB iPad is hitting stores just four days before Microsoft's Surface Pro is scheduled to be released on 9 February in the US. The 64GB version of Redmond's tablet will be $899 (£574), while the 128GB version will be $999 (£638).
