If you desperately need to get hold of the iPhone 5, check out this contract which is the cheapest on the market for Apple’s flagship product. It is available via moneysavingexpert.com on online retailer MobilePhonesDirect on T-Mobile. Note that you won’t be able to access the deal other than via Moneysavingexpert.com.
The plan costs a mere £10.50 per month on a two year contract with an upfront fee of £345, that’s a total cost of ownership of £592. It includes 50 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB data which is likely to be of little use. That’s an effective pay monthly cost of £24.67.
The main appeal of this deal is the fact that you can get the phone with a contract for £63 more than what you’d paid for the SIM free version of the phone alone.
Obviously whether you have the upfront money which is equivalent to around two thirds of the cost of the phone (that’s £529) is another matter altogether.
We’ve been a tad surprised to see a flurry of relatively affordable iPhone 5 deals crop up less than six months after the handset’s launched.
Apple, it seems, is ready to make significant financial concessions in order to keep its market share growing amidst increasing competition from Android and Windows Phone handsets.
