Sony Ericsson Xperia Play gaming smartphone down to £149

We remember fondly when we first saw the Xperia Play in Barcelona two years ago at a Sony Ericsson event. Since then many things have changed; Sony Ericsson has become Sony Mobile and is now an integral part of the company and there has not been any follow up to this iconic smartphone since then.

Online retailer Very is selling what are surely some of the last stocks of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play for £149, a price that includes a free multimedia docking station and free delivery. The device is brand new and SIM Free and comes with six preloaded games.

Other features include a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, the MSM8255 clocked at 1GHz. There’s also 512MB of RAM, a 4in WVGA capacitive display, that trademark slide out Playstation game pad, an 8GB microSD card, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 5-megapixel rear camera plus a forward-facing one, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HD video recording and Sony Playstation certification.
