UK retailer Phones4U is selling Nokia’s first Windows Phone handset, the Lumia 800 (white edition) for a mere £108 plus a compulsory top up voucher. The phone - which was launched on 2011 - is still on sale at Phones4U for £15.50 a month on a two year contract.
The offer is apparently nationwide, according to someone we’ve spoke to at Phones4U, is available on multiple networks and is only valid is you’re upgrading from a PAYG SIM that’s been regularly used and topped up.
The Nokia Lumia 800 originally ran on Windows Phone 7.5 but has received updates to Windows Phone 7.8 very recently. It is still a very decent handset with its polycarbonate unibody chassis, a 4.3in ClearBlack 800 x 480 display, an 8-megapixel camera and 16GB onboard storage.
As it is the case for all Nokia Windows Phone Nokia handsets, it comes with Nokia Drive, Nokia Mix Radio, Nokia Maps and Nokia Music.
However, the value-for-money factor of this deal is tempered by the fact that O2 is selling the Nokia Lumia 620, a Windows Phone 8 handset with better hardware specifications, for £130 (including a £10 top up) until later today. You can check our review of the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone here.
