Today (and today only), mobile phone operator O2 is selling the recently-announced Nokia Lumia 620 for £119.99, a discount of £30 off its usual retail price and around half its selling price at Argos (note that Argos sells it SIM free whereas O2’s is locked and a £10 top up needs to be added to the price).
The handset – which can be used on Giffgaff and Tesco Mobile - was chosen in a Facebook contest and will be available for sale on O2’s website and instore.
Amongst its most notable features are Windows Phone 8 OS, a 3.8in 800 x 480 pixel ClearBlack display, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front facing one, Nokia Maps, Nokia Music, Nokia Mix Radio, City Lens and Nokia Drive.
We reviewed the Nokia Lumia 620 a few days ago and gave it a very decent score but based on its suggested retail price of £230.
Arguably, at half that price, it should easily be on top of your shopping list if you’re after a decent smartphone; it was and remains one of the best smartphones on the market regardless of the OS.
