It is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC. That’s a quad-core model clocked at 1.5GHz. There’s also 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, an 8-megapixel camera, a 4.7in IPS display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution, a microSD card slot and Android 4.0 ICS.
The LG Optimus 4X HD has roughly the same configuration as its two other well-known competitors, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X. The first one retails, brand new, for around £350 while the second can be had for just under £300.
The other rival to these three is the Google Nexus 4 which has twice the amount of RAM and Jelly Bean plus a newer system-on-chip, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro.
LG has already announced a brand new flagship smartphone, the LG Optimus G pro which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC and has a full HD display.
