£124 Fuhu Nabi 2 tablet: The real challenger to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Head over to Argos’s eBay Outlet to check out the Fuhu Nabi 2 which is on sale for £123.94, a price that includes 120 Nectar points. The tablet is refurbished but comes with a 12-month warranty.

We reviewed the Fuhu Nabi 2 back in November 2012 when it was available for £150 and found out that it was a very decent tablet, giving it four stars out of five. Now given the price drop, its appeal to audiences is likely to be higher.

Its hardware is quite similar to the Google Nexus 7 with some significant differences. It runs an Nvidia quad-core processor, the Tegra 3, clocked at 1.7GHz, with 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage and a 7in display.

The latter is only a 1,024 x 600 pixel model, less than the HD one on Google’s tablet. In addition, it has a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot and a micro HDMI one as well.

The rest of the features are pretty standard. There’s Android 4.0.4 ICS, Wi-Fi, a battery life that lasts up to seven hours and a proprietary, customizable bumper.

Once fitted, that bumper bumps its thickness to almost 30mm and its weight to 600g. it comes with the Fuhu App Zone 2.0 app store, a sanitized version of Google’s Play, as well as Amazon App Store.
