£535 Toshiba Portege Z830-10N: Possibly the best value-for-money Ultrabook on the market

Laptopoutlet sells the Toshiba Portege Z830-10N Ultrabook for as little as £535 on its eBay account. The device comes with a one year warranty, is brand new and includes 535 Nectar points. You can add a two year extended international warranty (pick up and return) for only £29.99.

The Ultrabook comes with a dual-core Intel Core i3-2367M processor clocked at 1.4GHz (based on Sandy Bridge) with 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 3000, a 13.3in 1,366 x 768 pixel display, Bluetooth, GbE, Wi-Fi, a card reader, a webcam, HDMI/VGA ports, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, Windows 7 and a battery life of up to eight hours.

What makes this laptop so attractive though is its sheer form factor. It weighs a jaw-dropping 1.12Kg and is a mere 0.83cm at its thinnest (although on average, it’s likely to be nearer to 16mm).

Arguably though there are some compromises at this price and size.

The processor is a bit slow by our tastes, there’s not enough onboard memory, it doesn’t comes with Windows 8 and the battery is embedded and therefore can’t be replaced.

You can read the review of the Toshiba Portege Z890-10Q here. It is a much more expensive device but has roughly the same chassis design.
