Less than a week after its official unveiling, forthcoming pirate epic Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has again sailed into the headlines, after a series of fresh screenshots emerged depicting the game.
Some of the images look very impressive indeed, so we're inclined to believe that they're the real deal and derive from Assassin's Creed producer Ubisoft.
The screenshots fit in nicely with what we know about Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag (opens in new tab) already, showing a dynamic, visually stunning game set against a lush Caribbean backdrop.
Most interestingly, there's an image of new protagonist Edward Kenway - grandfather of perpetually moody Assassin's Creed 3 lead Connor - alongside one of his illustrious pirate peers, Edward "Blackbeard" Teach.
There's also a shot of the ship customisation feature, which sees gamers able to improve and repair Kenway's flagship vessel, the Jackdaw.
