Expansys is running a trade up scheme on behalf of Samsung that allows users to get a Galaxy Tab 2 or a discounted Samsung product up to four weeks after they have sent their old smartphone in.
Prior to that, they must make sure that (a) they’ve purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 or Galaxy S3 mini either on SIM Free or PAYG/Pay Monthly (b) that they’ve completed a trade-in form.
The promotion, according to Samsung, will last until at least 30 March 2013 and perhaps most importantly, the value of trade in devices and discounts offered by Samsung may change daily.
Obviously, the smartphone that is being traded must be in working condition in order for the transaction to work.
A quick trial using as the Samsung Galaxy S2 showed that we could get the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for £90, which, according to the site, represents a saving of £189.
The only manufacturers allowed in the scheme are Apple, Samsung, Blackberry, Sony Ericsson, HTC and Nokia. The other Samsung devices included in the swap include the Galaxy Tab 7, the Galaxy Note 10.1, the NX1000, the Galaxy Camera and the WB250F.
