Carphone Warehouse’s subsidiary, Mobiles.co.uk, is flogging the HTC One, a super smartphone which was announced last month, for only £22 per month with an upfront fee of £100. That’s a total cost of ownership of £628 or around £26.17 per month over the duration of the two year contract.
Note that you will only be able to get hold of that plan through uSwitch. The tariff includes 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB data. Also likely to be included are BT Openzone Wi-Fi as well as O2’s Priority Moments.
As for the HTC One itself, you can check out our hands-on review of the handset when it went on launch in February. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC, a quad-core monster clocked at 1.7GHz and using Krait architecture.
There’s also 2GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a massive 4.7in 1,920 x 1.080 pixel display, a 4.1-megapixel camera (where the actual pixels are actually bigger than usual and capture more light), Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and more.
It is interesting to note that the sweet spot for a brand new smartphone with a fairly average minutes/texts/data bundle has now fallen well below £30 (and is actually closer to £25). Check out our preview of the HTC One here.
