Blogging platform Tumblr has rolled out a new version of its iOS app, which comes with several improvements and new features.
Most notably, the latest iteration of the app (version 3.3) comes with a brand-new camera, which should make it easier to post photos to your blog. The new camera lets you adjust the flash, add gridlines when taking a photo, and access your galleries with a swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
Also on the photo front, you'll now be able to create and share photo collections from within the app. This capability was previously only available on iOS devices through a standalone app called Photoset, which Tumblr released in this past October.
Version 3.3 also lets you double tap posts to like them, and change your avatar by simply tapping on it. Finally, the app will now automatically retrieve titles when you copy or enter a URL to post.
The update comes after the official Tumblr app for iOS received a major revamp back in November, including a newly designed dashboard and iPad support.
The latest Tumblr update for iOS devices is available for free in the App Store now.
Founded just five years ago, the blogging platform and social-networking site has a worldwide audience of nearly 170 million monthly visitors, Tumblr founder and CEO David Karp announced on company's staff blog back in November, citing data from web analytics firm Quantcast.
Earlier this month, there were reports that Tumblr would roll out its ad platform to mobile, which has seen a huge jump in traffic. But rather than relying on display and search ads, Tumblr is asking advertisers to become part of the platform and pay to promote blog posts they create themselves.
