For many people, a computer is still a (rather boring) big box known as the base unit with the monitor, keyboard and mouse located on the outside. This is why products like Aria’s Gladiator computer range are still on sale. The popular retailer sells the NEXTDAY-350 for £132 down from £167.95.
Aria’s technicians have assembled a rather enticing solution comprising of an ARIAnet Gladiator black micro-ATX casing with a 500W PSU, a Gigabyte motherboard with an onboard AMD Zacate dual-core E-350 APU and an AMD A45 FCH chipset, 4GB of RAM, a DVD writer and a 500GB hard disk drive spinning at 7200RPM.
The rest of the specification includes an embedded AMD Radeon HD6310 GPU, integrated 7.1 channel HD Audio, four SATA ports, two PS2 ports, DSUB and HDMI connectors, four USB 2.0 ports, LAN port, a PCI Slot and a standard one year warranty.
The Gigabyte motherboard which is likely to be an embedded model, includes a patented DualBIOS technology and what the Taiwanese company calls a Hybrid EFI technology which allows it to support hard disk drives bigger than 3TB.
Note that this device doesn’t come with any operating system. Aria sells a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium for just over £67.
