Talktalk is selling a TV, Broadband and phone package for £10 a month for the first six months and £15.50 for the rest of the 12 months contract. Assuming that customers choose to pay their line rental in advance, they could be looking at a pay monthly fee of under £24 (£23.17 to be more precise). Otherwise, they will have to pay £14.95 for their line rental.
The offer include a Youview set top box; the latter offers a seven-day catch-up service, the ability to pause, rewind and record Freeview channels plus unlimited access to more than 4,000 shows and films.
Also in the package are unlimited calls to UK landlines (including 0845 and 0870), unlimited downloads and Talktalk’s own free online security service, HomeSafe.
New customers will get a free connection but no £50 High Street voucher (only available to existing customers who will have to sign for a two year contract instead).
Talktalk does traffic shaping at peak times for peer-to-peer file sharing and users will also be able to get TV boosts which are effectively one-month thematic addons (Sports, movies, entertainment, kids etc).
