The first cuts: Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone now down to £580

Expansys has announced that it has cut the price of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone down to £580, a price that includes free delivery. The device is set to be shipped towards the end of the month and the online retailer is also offering a bundle that includes a car kit, a memory card and a screen protector for £20 extra.

The phone, which Samsung describes as a life companion, is a massive step up its predecessor, the Galaxy S3. It has a much faster quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC clocked at 1.9GHz with Adreno 320 GPU.

There’s also 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 5in 1,920 x 1,080 pixel Super AMOLED display with the third generation Corning Gorilla Glass.

Other features include the ability to use both the front facing 2-megapixel camera and the rear 13-megapixel one at the same time, Drama Shot, Story Album, Sound and Shot, a dedicated Samsung Hub, Group Play, Air View, S Heatlh, S Planner, Smart Scroll and Smart Pause.
