Cheapest 32GB Google Nexus 7 tablet available from £189

Carphone Warehouse has put the Google Nexus 7 tablet (32GB version) on preorder for a mere £189 including free delivery. The tablet, which was launched last year, has singlehandedly changed the Android tablet market prompting many like Acer or Samsung to change their selling strategies.

One also wonders whether the Nexus 7 didn’t force Apple to produce a smaller version of the iPad, one which is called the iPad Mini.

The Google Nexus 7, which we reviewed here, is the first of a number of recent Nexus devices which include the Nexus 4 smartphone and the Nexus 10 tablet, both of which are ground breaking devices in their own respect.

As for that 7in tablet, it runs on a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz.

There’s also a 7in 1,280 x 800 IPS AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a front facing camera, a 4,325mAh battery that can power the device for nearly 10 hours and a mini USB port.

There’s no microSD card slot, no microHDMI or micro SD card slot, possibly a deliberate attempt by Google to prevent the Nexus 7 from causing too much damage to rivals’ sales.
