Zoostorm PlayTab tablet: A cracking Apple iPad 2 rival

The Zoostorm PlayTab tablet is now available for £119.99 from Ebuyer, a cracking price for a device that comes with some very interesting features.

First and foremost though, we can’t help but notice the design of the tablet which sports curved edges, rather than straight ones like most of its rivals.

Inside, the PlayTab sports a dual-core Rockchip RK3066 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz with a Mali-400 GPU. Other features include 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 10.1in 1,280 x 800 pixels display, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, a rear 2-megapixel camera and a front facing VGA one, Wi-Fi, HDMI and USB ports plus a 6,500mAh battery that can power the tablet for up to eight hours.

The PlayTab is an interesting alternative to the likes of the Google Nexus 7 (which has a more powerful processor but no expansion slots or second camera) or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

Other competitors in this price range include the Sumvision Cyclone Voyager, the Fuhu Nabi 2 tablet or the Acer Iconia B1.
