It remains Samsung’s best-selling mainstream smartphone and is now available from bargain shelves. Carphone Warehouse is selling the Samsung Galaxy S3 (either in blue, white or red) for as little as £20 per month on a two-year contract on Talk Mobile, which uses Vodafone as service provider.
That’s a total cost of ownership of £480, the cheapest we’ve found for that handset on a 24-month period and without any upfront fee. You can check our review of the Samsung Galaxy S3 here.
The package you get is only viable for low usage customers as you get 100 minutes, 500 texts and 100MB data allowance only. Up your monthly spend to £25 (total cost of ownership of £600) and you could get 500 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data from Three (but no tethering).
The Galaxy S3 is still a very powerful handset even if it has been superseded by the Galaxy S4. Launched less than one year ago, it runs on a quad-core SoC, the Exynos 4412, clocked at 1.4GHz. It has a 4.8in HD Super AMOLED display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel display, an 8-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot and a slew of Samsung features (Smart stay, S-Voice, Smart Alert, Nature UX etc).
