Meet the OT602, the £8 smartphone from Alcatel One Touch

Online retailer Prepaymania is selling the Alcatel OT-602 handset for a mere £7.99 with free delivery, as part of its daily deal offers. The smartphone is locked on T-Mobile (which means that it can, in theory, be used on Virgin Mobile, EE and Orange).

The handset has a 2.4in resistive display with a 320 x 240 resolution, a Mediatek SoC, the MTK6253, which is clocked at 104MHz, Bluetooth 2.1, a microSD card slot (which supports up to 8GB cards), FM Radio but no Wi-Fi or 3G capabilities.

You can still access your emails, the internet (via the Opera Mini browser) and popular social networks (Twitter and Facebook).

There’s also a 2-megapixel camera, a microUSB port and a 850mAh batterythat can power the phone for up to seven hours. You should be able to unlock the handset for as little as £1 on eBay.
