The Toshiba Satellite P875-31P is a laptop of epic proportions. It is powered by an impressive Intel Core i7-3630QM processor, one which is clocked at 2.4GHz (turbo boosts to 3.4GHz), comes with four cores and has 6MB L3 cache.
Other features include 16GB of RAM, a 1TB hard disk drive, a 17.3in LED backlit TruBrite display (with a 1,600 x 900 pixel resolution), a Blu-ray drive, a 2GB Nvidia Geforce graphics chip with Optimus technology, Harman Kardon speakers, four USB 3.0 and one HDMI ports, a card reader, Intel’s Wi-Di technology, Toshiba’s Resolution+ video scaling, Windows 8 and a 2-megapixel webcam.
Of course, it’s not just sheer processing power or raw performance. It’s about the looks as well. Th P875 sports a nice looking silver aluminium chassis with a nice embossed design, a keyboard with island-style keys, a dedicated numeric keypad and a large touchpad.
Laptops with 16GB are a rarity in the UK but there are a couple out there like this Zoostorm model which costs a mere £400 but is a few notches below the P875 when it comes to the rest of the hardware.
