Head over to HP outlet to bag an HP Ultrabook for under £400. The HP Pavilion 14-b003sa carries a suggested retail price of £493 but HP dripped its price to £409 and until the 28 April, you can enter the code VC8ALL to cut its price to £376.28, a saving of nearly £33. You get free delivery as well as two year warranty.
Intel has been flexible with regards to what constitutes an Ultrabook which is why the entry price of these devices has fallen down over the past year. The HP Pavilion 14-b003sa is no exception with cheaper hardware being used.
It runs on a Core i3-3217U processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 3MB L2 cache, 4GB of RAM (upgradable to 8GB), 32GB SSD and a 320GB hard disk drive, a 14in 1,366 x 768 pixel display, an Intel HD 4000 Graphics unit (which means that the processor is based on Ivy Bridge), Altec Lansing speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio, HP TrueVision HD webcam, three USB ports, HDMI/VGA connectors, Wi-Fi, a 4-cell battery, Ethernet and Windows 8.
All in all, the hardware configuration reminds us of the HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook (bar the processor and the storage subsystem) which went on sale at HP for around £229 as well.
